POLICIES and FAQ's
WE DO NOT DO PIERCINGS!
PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILDREN TO OUR SHOP. Our insurance does not allow them, and we don't want them. Leave them at home, or with a sitter, or on the curb. But do NOT bring them in here.
Valid photo ID required for all 18+ tattoos. License, passport, military ID are acceptable. ID should be government issued and laminated with full name and birth date. School ID, social security card, and birth certificate are NOT ACCEPTABLE.
We tattoo 16+ with parent or guardian consent. Both parent and child MUST have valid photo IDs that meet the criteria listed above. Last names and addresses MUST MATCH. If they don't match you must bring documentation, such as a marriage certificate in the case of different last names. NO EXCEPTIONS! We pierce under 18 with parent/guardian consent. Age limits are subject to our discretion. Valid ID required.
Appointments require a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit. You can leave one over the phone with a credit card if necessary. Appointments may be moved from one day to another without losing your deposit. However, if you no-call no-show on us or cancel your appointment, you lose the deposit. Period. No exceptions.
We don't draw without a deposit. We don't draw small tattoos ahead of time. We are too busy to work like that. Sorry. If you want it drawn ahead of time, leave a deposit and set up a consult, but without a financial commitment we will not draw for you. If you want to take your tattoo drawing home with you after the consult, you must pay for the tattoo in full.
Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are preferred.
No drunks, No druggies. If WE have to be sober, YOU have to be sober.
No attitude. We try to be as polite and cordial as possible, but if you give us a hard time, or are a general pain in our ass, we reserve the right to refuse service.
Our artists specialize in Traditional American, Oriental Themes, Portraiture, and large-scale work such as sleeves and backpieces. However we are all well-versed in other styles as well. We tried to create a tattoo shop that is versatile in many different tattoo styles to accommodate our many different clients.
Our shop is disinfected on a daily basis, which is more than we can say for a lot of shops. We follow federal OSHA guidelines for our industry, as well as our local health codes set by Central Connecticut Health District (CCHD). Our floors are swept and bleached thoroughly every work day, our front room is vacuumed every morning, and everything in the shop is wiped down with a hospital-grade disinfectant, including doorknobs and light fixtures.
Our needles are NEVER reused, and are disposed of in sharps containers after every tattoo. We have a hospital-grade, spore-tested autoclave (sterilizer) on premises that we use on our tools in between clients, though almost all of our supplies are disposable. The tools that ARE reused are ultrasonically cleaned, hand scrubbed, packaged, and sterilized. All autoclave cycles are run with an indicator strip, and all strips have a batch reference number which is logged, so we can trace any tattoo session back to the indicator strip run with that cycle.
